Maintenance Service Support for the facility is comprised of several departments: Maintenance, Janitors, Housekeeping, Laundry and Supply.
Each department is staffed by a dedicated team of individuals with unique skills and qualifications, whose main goal is to provide for the care and comfort of our residents and staff in an efficient and unobtrusive manner.
The Director of Maintenance Service Support is Mark Ahonen, 906-224-9811 Extension 105.
Maintenance to the building, equipment and grounds is provided by four full time janitors, two full time maintenance staff and three part-time janitor / maintenance staff.
Janitors provide much of the floor care, garbage collection and light maintenance. They are staffed 24 hours a day to provide security and emergency life safety care during fire, severe weather and other facility emergencies.
Maintenance staff takes care of the plumbing, electrical, heating, refrigeration and general building upkeep. Janitorial / Maintenance staff takes care of the grounds and help with maintenance and janitorial duties.
Daily resident room and space cleaning is provided by six full time and three part time employees in Housekeeping. Cleaning procedures assure resident room cleanliness and provide infection control measures.
Resident linen service is provided by two full time and three part time Laundry employees. Recent equipment purchases have been made to provide tracking and efficient linen processing. Procedures are also in place to provide infection control measures.
The Supply Department is operated by one full time and one part-time employee. A recent upgrade to a web based barcode inventory control system enables us to provide dependable and efficient supply distribution, ordering and billing.
